Church,Civil Ceremony Wedding
A wedding meant taking vows in a church in the past, but due to changing preferences of couples, civil weddings are also seen taking place with the couple signing in the presence of a registrar with two or more witnesses. Whatever the type if wedding, obtaining a civil license gives the ceremony a legal status pronouncing the couple as man and wife.
Having a Civil or a Church Wedding Ceremony
- Due to either of the couple belonging to different backgrounds and religions, a civil wedding seems the most appropriate to have, as there is no necessity for them to change their religion but both the bride and groom need to be above 18 years of age, the age factor applies to a church wedding ceremony too.
- With just two witnesses and a marriage registrar, a civil wedding is far less expensive and less time consuming than a religious ceremony. But you could always host a reception after your civil wedding.
- If you wish to have any readings and music, the registrar needs to approve of it, without which it wouldn’t be possible.
- A church wedding is obviously held in a church, but if you wish to have it at a place that you and your partner decide on, you could have it at that place too.
- A church wedding requires good planning and organizing , right from booking the venue , to making a guest list , ordering food and drinks , getting the wedding gown and the ensemble done , the groom’s attire , wedding bands , florists , photographers , choosing the bridesmaid and the best man , arranging for travel and stay of the guests.
